We had MANY helping hands on deck to get a customer's car (AKA "c1nicole" ) all loaded up and on it's way back to Oklahoma.
Also went through stuff in the shop- and getting things ready to sell to help Dub's widow.
Never knew Dub had a '72 240Z (Lynn said they had lots of fun times in it) and a 69 Camaro?!!!
It was bittersweet- a lot of happy memories were told about Dub.
Just like I would want my memorial service to be - talking about cars- happy memories- laughter and only a few tears.
Gotta say Corvette owners are some of the best people -

Sad day indeed. I just saw this post. When I first joined the forum, Dub was quite active and immensely helpful in every way he could. His knowledge and is willing to assist was a incredible force.
My deepest sympathy to his family and his friends and may he rest in peace!! Ike
It was a wonderful tribute to the Corvette community and to Dub, to see everyone at the shop that Saturday. Most of us never did meet face to face before.
Seeing people care about each other, helping someone that needed the assistance and giving of personal time was inspiring.
This is what we all need, the world needs. Come together and pay it forward.
I'm glad I was a part of that group and happy to know you all.

Hey Sal-
Great to meet you- hell of a job you are doing.

Could not have said it any better myself-

I second this. Sal has been an amazing resource for me in trying to locate parts missing etc. He has been in constant contact and unknown he is doing this for others as well.
Him taking this huge burden from Lynn is very selfless.
I was told of Dub's passing only a couple of days ago. I haven't spent hardly any time in the C-3 section in the last several years. Stupid OT!!!
Sure wish I would havwe known of the get-together at his shop earlier this month. I would have driven up from the coast for this.
I am sure glad that I got to meet him when I did. I had a great time shooting the **** with him, and petting the Dobie that was there in the shop. He told me it was deaf...
Condolences to his family, and the entire old Corvette world. Just super, super bummed over this.
You know that a forum member is extremely special when there are (9) pages (so far) of appreciative/honoring words from his forum peers. AND, a special 'thank you' to the community facilitators for allowing us to keep this here in the C3 forum's "General" tab for all to openly see and know. He was a huge help to many of us.
Once, about 4 years ago he mentioned in a post (before he went dark probably because of a couple of obnoxious comments from forum 'outsiders' - you know who you are) that he was planning to write a book for C3 owners. I was so thrilled and PM'd him asking to buy his first (hopefully signed) copy. I followed up a couple of times but he had other priorities to first attend to that he didn't really go into. For that I'm also sad because he knew as much as the famed Thomas Falconer, C3 restoration author in my opinion.
My heart goes out to his family, as well.

I just saw this post today, I haven’t spent much time on the forum lately, busy with other projects. But DUB was truly a generous man, his posts were so detailed, and I could tell he was the real deal with Corvette repair. May he rest in peace. And to Lynn, I am so sorry for your loss. I never met him, I never talked with him. But I read what he wrote, and “listened” to him.
So sad to hear this. My condolences to Mrs Lynn.
We lost one of the good guys.
The scary part is that I have heard this at least a half a dozen times this summer, and these guys are 6-8 years younger than me!
So I say:
Enjoy each day, and make the most of it!
Pay it forward for the next generation - they will need it.
Help anyone you can, just the way Dub always did.
That is his legacy, it's better than a book, because it will live on.
Wow, what a loss to the world....this guy was a true gem. I only knew him through his posts on the forum, but had deep respect for his knowledge about our cars, and how he so freely shared it with anyone who asked a question or made a comment in one of the threads.
Terrible loss for the C3 community here, my thoughts are extended to his family
I was very sorry to read this today. Dub was not only extremely knowledgable but very helpful. Also seemed to be a genuinely nice guy. He’ll be missed.
I am so very greatfull for Dubs help with my build. I am glad I was able to make it to see him at his shop a couple years ago. He always had the answer.
WOW....I just saw this post. RIP DUB! DUB is the reason I feel like I can actually work on these cars. It started with an 81 that he helped me get back on it's feet with countless hours on the phone, emails, and DMs. He was so generous with his time and knowledge. I've got a knack for asking a million questions and never once did he turn me down for a call to help walk me through an issue. Didn't mater what day or what time it was for that matter. He was an inspiration to me and to many others...a household name in my home ...he will be missed for sure. Thoughts and prayers to his his family. WWDD!
I had a minor car accident in my Vette on 8/14. I called Dub the morning if 8/15 and we had our normal hour long conversation about everything in life, like usual. Knowing he was busy, I took my car to a different place to get fixed. But I always check in with Dub every few months.
I left a message yesterday to give me a ring back and got the worst shock of my life when someone left a voicemail saying Dub passed on 8/15 this afternoon.
somehow, I feel blessed to have talked to him that day. But another part of me wishes I could have been there to do more. Dub was much more than my Corvette guy, he was a friend, he was family. I’ll miss our talks Dub. My entire family will miss you. Lynn, if you read this, you are in our thoughts and prayers.
