Just a reminder...cover eerysq. in. of interior with some type of heat barrier/sound deadener. It will take a day or so to cover everything, but the interior hear and road noise (even in a convertible) will be reduced by 90%.

Absolutely! I'm using KilMat as well as ThermoTec to deaden sound and heat as much as possible. I'll also plumb in heater hose shut off values to keep the heater core cool in summer.
Today consisted of removing the old starter cable (wonder why this had such a tough time cranking...) and deciding on the new cable run (relocating battery to pass. side). Pretty cool to find this factory sticker in the trunk area, too.
More researching progress than car progress with work and life but today I fabbed up the block off plate and started to mount the heater. I hopeful for more progress tomorrow running battery cables and prepping for sound and heat insulation in the cab.
First time working with fiberglass and fingers crossed I got the ratios correct...Success! Patched up the floor pan where exhaust heat weakened the fiberglass and then where Bubba cut a hole in the shifter tunnel.
That hole might be where bubba had the flywheel explode on him just a thought ,and how much hp are you wanting and can afford here's my 69 650 hp and a 6 speed . and sorry about your dad .
I've seen your car around here and absolutely love those wheels. Well done! I'm keeping the unknown longblock intact so power low....for now. Once the interior, suspension and exterior get the attention I want to give it, I'll pull the motor and do something fun. 2024 project!
C5 Vette fans and radiator were delivered. Fans came off eBay and tested working. I am VERY impressed with the initial quality of this radiator. Two rows of 1.25" tubes should cool this mild big block nicely. If I need additional capacity for any reason I can always throw the expansion tank back on.
I'm also looking for fan relay suggestions; adjustable controls for dual fans. Probably staying away from PWM controller as I have heard they don't play nice with brushed motors. Learning towards Ron Francis stuff, maybe Davies Craig.

Ran into some health issues so no progress to speak of. Just accumulating parts thus the post here showing off the Modern Classics center console. One day this will see the light of day!
Not able to get over to the garage where the Vette is kept on this beautiful sunny day is killing me! So I decided to start to clean up the seats a bit. Cleaning and painting the tracks while I wait on new hardware to show from eBay.
Welp, pulled the fan shroud and radiator...PITA! And I broke my shroud....
Decided a full front end suspension rebuild isn't only smart but necessary at this point while the radiator and some other engine goodies are out. So interior rebuild and tidying up the motor are on pause.
Shouldn't have said it...decided the motor needs to come out while everything else is accessible. I've decided the car just needs too much TLC and deferred maintenance not to do it all while I'm motivated and things are out of the way. Knowing me, I will have this engine on the stand and end up tearing it all down too.
Getting the headers Cerokoted with their ceramic Cerokote as soon as I get the O2 sensor bung welded in.
I'm not doing a frame off, I'm not doing a frame off, I'm not doing a frame off.....
