Please excuse the dumb question: Are you certain the threads aren't too long on the spark plug, and hitting the top of the piston?

Wow. What a great question. Wouldn't that be something! Better to know right now than when you hit the key to crank it.

I think stingr69 is referring to the threads in the heads for the plugs.
Have you tried to remove the one plug?
Hopefully the thread on the plug is messed up and it stopped turning as soon as it engaged with the threads in the head.

As far as frames go, contact David Howard AllC34Me here on the forum.
He is the frame Guru and can probably give you some good advice and may have a frame he wants to get rid of.

Well the saga continues. Got the motor all back together. After trying tread chasers, and taps, no luck the plug still faces up from the other plugs. Contacted elderbrock and summit racing long story short had to tear the motor back apart to take the heads back to summit so they can look at them. In process radiator upper inlet hose broke so had to get a new radiator, new water pump, new fuel pump. I am going nuts. This was supposed to be a simple head swap. 😩

David has no more frames, and I believe is taking a step back from all things Corvette all the time for a bit.
