EDIT
Some Details from the Facebook Posting
After a brief illness my dear friend David Howard passed away last night. He was surrounded by his loving wife (Tammy) and family. He will be missed greatly by those that knew him.
David was a Navy Vietnam Combat Veteran, serving as the Boatswain on a PBR.
After his Naval Service he graduated from Michigan State with a Master's Degree in Packaging. Later in life he was employed at J&J as a Director. His talents were used to develop and refine pharmaceutical packaging products. He became an Anti-Counterfeiting expert and was a key player at J&J in identifying counterfeit pharmaceutical products and developing processes to readily identify these products as real or counterfeit.
Those that knew David soon realized that he was a wonderful individual. He was generous with his time and knowledge. He was always willing to help others. His hobby was to repair and refurbish C-2 and C-3 Corvette frames becoming an expert on many issues in the process.

Reason: Added some details
I have not owned a C3 for many years (about 40 years) but I met David when he and Tammy joined the Easton Area Corvette Club over 25 years ago. Everything posted has been spot on and David was and still is one of the most nicest people I have never had the pleasure of knowing. David was always busy with Corvettes even when he was still traveling for work. I remember when he bought Sparty and he asked me over to look at it and when I did, I wasn't sure there was any life left in Sparty. It was 3 or 4 different shades of Rust-Oleum green and was a mix of years put together. David saw something in that Corvette that I didn't but I was not surprised a few years alter when Sparty was finished. Prior to Sparty, David took a walk on the wild side with his racer. That was an interesting project that he finished and sold before he even drove it. I could go on about my friendship with David but my fingers would be worn out from typing. I received a text from David on December 12th letting me know about his condition and how he was going to take on the deal he was handed. The last time I saw David was on December 17th when I stopped over to see him and Tammy. Throughout his endeavor, David always kept a positive attitude knowing the odds were against him. David wasn't just a Corvette guy, he was a family guy who always put his family first. My last text with David was on January 29th when he shared the devastating news with me. David will not be forgotten and he will always put a smile on my face when I think of him. All of you folks who posted in this forum are fortunate to have dealt both in person and over the internet with David. Being geographically only a few miles away from David's home, I have offered to help with anything needed including Corvette related. I will miss David's friendship and his sense of humor. I am not dry eyed as I write this but when someone you respected and enjoyed life with is taken, it is not fair and is difficult to understand. May you rest in peace David S. Howard and God bless you!
He had been to my shop on a couple of occasions and I also bumped into him at Carlisle. Always a gentleman and a pleasure to talk with. I’m going to miss seeing him.
I'm sorry to hear this, he was a good guy and very knowledgeable about Corvette frames and their ancillary parts. I'd only met him once, when I sold him a frame last summer, but I'd talked with him on the phone and the Forum on a number of occasions.
It's scary to see how many participants in the Corvette hobby are passing away and the knowledge we're losing.
David was very helpful to me as a newcomer to the forum and was very generous with parts I was after. His limited visits to the forum in the last year were felt by many.
Peace to David's family.
I met David over 10 years ago- at Dub's shop- seems like just yesterday.
What an incredible asset to the community - so generous- helpful - knowledgeable- and just one hellova guy.
I will never forget all the times of him saying "this is my last project." Then a couple weeks later would be knee deep in another frame off.
Bob K and I visited with him on Wednesday.
He was always such a gentleman and enjoyed helping others so much.
I promised him his kindness and love for this hobby will carry on.
That we will do our best.
