You can't find reproduction vacuum parts that work- right size-quality- because they are copied and made in China.
So you replace the "badly" produced/copied parts with another part made in the same place-but requires you to modify the car- not work as originally ( comes up with parking lights)plus no instructions or tech support.

I am interested in your 1980 Corvette electric headlight actuator. Can you get with me so I can get some information please. Thanks Terry 580-331-0034

Tagging a question into this thread instead of starting another one.
Before I go putting the headlights back in can anyone confirm with me what color (if any) the inside of the fiberglass in that area should be?
It is bare right now. Cannot remember if it was black like the engine bay, body color or bare.
Since they are EMPTY right now figured I would pretty them up.

Is the inside of the fiberglass painted (like under the headlights etc? It’s bare glass right now.
Not for aesthetics as much as to protect.
Thanks!

I just installed Richard’s kit in my 74. It was very straightforward, even with the hood still on. It works exactly as advertised and I could not be more pleased with the result.

Gold actuator color
Since I plan to get Richard’s headlight AND wiper door electrical actuator replacement.
Went down a rabbit hole and put my girly/crafty side to good use.
Know gold paint has been less that desirable for final aesthetic result for those of us not replating or replacing functional actuators.
Thinking of playing around with this iridescent powder over gold paint then topping with a few coats of clear.
Wondering if anyone else has given this a try.

Nothing girly about it.
Give it a try and show us the results.

This was my result.
The gold alone is on the right. The right with the 2 coats of the rub on iridescent powder and a clear coat is on the left.
Video does not adequately show the shimmer and color change effect but it’s fairly close!
May do a thread on this if it would be of any use to others.
The right is hold alone.
The left side is 2 coats of the rub on with clear coat top coat.

I just checked out a couple of your videos on You Tube.
Nice work you have going on.
You should post more and think about doing a build thread.

I have had a thread going since back in 2017 here.
“Restoration journey begins”. My goodness WHAT A JOURNEY it has become.
I’m probably the least knowledgeable about car of anyone who has ever attempted classic car resto. Doing my best not to BUBBA the heck out of my car.
Every single day I’m thankful for YouTube/forums and FB 68 owners group.
Would be utterly lost without these resources.
Being a chick, perhaps expected I “don’t know” so folks are a little more forgiving than if I were a “dude”. 😂💕🎀👧

I will check out your build thread.
I’m trying not to Bubba anything on my build, I’ve asked a ton of questions about building my car and I’m sure many of them were dumb questions to some people.
If you don’t know, ask!
Keep us posted!
