Your bumper and taillights should look the same as mine...

I'm curious to know if those taillights will fit on my apparent 80-82 bumper. I'm not planning on switching out the bumper.

Not sure but I doubt it. '80-'82 taillights are different.

Corvette Central sells both all red or with a back up lamp.

So after doing some research on my engine, it’s a 350 crate motor with 12558062 vortec heads, a performer 2116 intake and a Holley 600 carb, my question is roughly how much horsepower this setup could produce? I realize there are other factors that would determine how much horsepower, but I just wanted a rough idea, also is that Holley carb good or should I change or upgrade it? Not looking to take this to the strip, just want a quick driver. I will post a couple of pictures. Thanks for your advice!

Without knowing the compression or cam specs, I’d say anywhere from 200 to 450.

Your intake manifold has a mounting pattern for both square bore and spread bore carbs. The correct Quadrajet carb number for your car is 17059216 and is good for 750 CFM if you’re looking for an upgrade.

10W-30 is a good oil to use unless you’re in an extremely hot or cold climate. You might be able to use 87 octane too. If you’re getting pinging with it though I would go up to premium.

Edit: Just read the part number of the crate engine you have installed. I would expect that you’re getting close to the advertised power of 250.

I would replace the tail lights with the stock '80-'82 tail lights.

I would like to but they are a little pricey for my budget, I can get new 79's for a lot cheaper, just have to do a little modification, plus I like the look of the 79 lights.

I’m needing to replace the spark plugs and wires, does anyone have any recommendations? Not wanting high end stuff, but budget friendly. I have seen other posts that suggest NGK is a good option, but that is for factory heads. I have vortec heads with headers. ….

thanks,

It's on the long list of things to get rid of, do you have any recommendations for a fuel filter?

thanks,

Here is a thread that talks about which plugs to use for vortec heads.

The ideal setup would be a metal fuel line with a metal inline filter. Here is a thread about that.

To help you with your budget....Instead of replacing those plug wires, why not clean them up and test them to see if they are within specs, no point replacing them if they aren't broken. check it out on YouTube. I use basic Champion plugs and haven't had any issues in 25+ yrs.

Thanks for the information guys! The reason I’m replacing the wires is one of them was burnt by the headers, I don’t want to just replace one. I thought about replacing the plugs with shorty plugs, hopefully that will help with clearance from the headers. Jegs has a set of wires 8mm wires for around $40 I may purchase.
