I was also wondering what the trim code 722 means and a paint code 59L, 1979 c3 base model.
thanks!

Frost Beige exterior, Medium Red leather interior.
Trim tag codes are here:
https://corvettec3.ca/interior.htm
(go up one level for lots of other useful codes).
Your car's birthday is also on that trim tag, but I can't read it:
https://corvettec3.ca/numbers.htm

If you only spend $50- on your car today, get a copy of the dealer invoice from GM, here:

I'll just add, and not to step on any toes. But the date on the trim tag is when they started building your car. Not necessarily the date it was finished and rolled off the line. Sometimes it is. Many times it's the next day. Sometimes it's 2 or 3 days later.
It's not to hard to check. The trim tag does certainly get you close.

So how would one check the actual "rolled off the line" date?

I have the dealer invoice for my 79. It shows the "date shipped", which matches the estimated build date from the C3 registry build calculator, but that's just an estimate.

https://www.c3registry.com/index.php...hdayCalculator

I'm willing to accept that the car's birthday is the same as the "date shipped", which any 77-82 C3 can check for $50- and an email, but only if I assume that the car rolled off the assembly line at St. Louis, and immediately onto a train to be transported to Pennsylvania the same day.

Is there a better way?

Thank you for this information! It will help me on my journey on being the new owner of this car, not real happy with the previous owner, they repainted it black and repainted the interior black. Why would anyone change the original factory paint and interior??? They did a **** poor job in my opinion. Also they the wrong tail lights….as you can see in the picture….no reverse lights…

You can add a lighted license plate bezel for backup lights, or do what I did and add some LEDs below the bumper (see link below). Having 4 bright brake lights is crucial in these cars. My black 79 is, apparently, invisible, and has nearly been hit several times by inattentive drivers.

The interior of my 80 was changed from red to black by a PO. I've mostly changed it back.

Those are 68-style rear lenses, in an 80-82 bumper.

The engine numbers you need & to match to vin are located passenger side front of motor on the head by the water pump as shown in the previous provided photos.

Those are NOT 68 style lenses. Not even close. They appear to be aftermarket custom made in China junk ! They are bubbled / factory are almost flat with a silver ring & a mild point in the center

In your images, you can see that the lights work in pairs, and the backup lights are separate lenses in the rear panel. You are correct, of course, that the OP's lenses are a common aftermarket mod. But that 68-only configuration of light bulbs is superior to anything stock from 69-82.

How can you tell if its an 80-82 bumper? Btw, I will be swapping out those taillights back to original.

Because it is shaped that way, like the bumper on my 80. 74, 75-69, 75-79, and 80-82 bumpers are more or less interchangeable, and the 80-82 bumper is a common appearance mod.

An OEM bumper cover will likely have waves in the top. An aftermarket fiberglass bumper will be stiff, and you can see the difference underneath.

You might need spacers to make your original lenses work. 80-82 lenses have standoffs molded in.

Can you get a picture of your engine stamp pad (under the AC compressor)?

you didn't mention 76-79...if they are not interchangeable, how could that be an 80-82 bumper? not doubting you, just trying to understand what's going on with it and when I order tailights...what year i should get.
thanks,

Sorry, typo. 75-79 are the same. 74-82 are interchangeable.

I'd remove the current lenses, and take pictures.

I have the same greenwood hood on my car which I actually like.. It was the reason I bought the car as silly as that sounds. This car appears to have a lot of aftermarket mods going on. likely done in the late eighties/early 90's can you post some other pics? just for curiosities sake so we can tell you whats what and if anything else has been modded.
EDIT never mind its already been asked..

I actually like it too and it’s functional. The previous owner I think stuck some L-82 emblems on to make it a wannabe L-82🤣

Have you checked your VIN? Your car may have had an L82.
