Not sure what you are trying to accomplish with that reply, but it wasn't helpful, I don't really care what the horsepower is, it is what is, just trying to get a feel for what I am dealing with, and what's with the $5 grand+ ?

Bikespace...post #63 of this thread I have a picture of the front of engine.
Oil for flat tappet cams, and C3s in general is a whole can of worms that I’m not getting into. Instead I’ll give you a link to a thread about it.

Personally I use whatever brand of 10w30 is the most convenient and a bottle of the additive sold at box stores. Just make sure to change it at the recommended interval.

I was refering to the Goodwrench crate motor, it's only 250 hp and cost 5 thousand dollars.

I would think the original color combination of light beige and red interior would be pretty rare and striking as well. Might want to eventually go back to that.

LeeS, I total agree with you, the thought crossed my mind, but that would cost a lot of money and time! One step at a time, just trying to get this running.

So I cleaned off the trim tag and a couple other tags on the drivers door latch area, I could use some help on the “Chevrolet H28” code. Also the other two tags.

Thank you!
Not sure about the H28

What do these tags mean?

Is your title marked as a salvage title car? It is likely it was declared a total loss by an insurance company at some point in it's life.

The VIN is correct for a 79 L-48, just a state-issued tag, and not in the correct location on the windshield frame.

The trim tag can be decoded here:
https://corvettec3.ca/interior.htm
https://corvettec3.ca/numbers.htm

H28 is the car's birthday. March 28 1979.

Did you order a dealer invoice?

I have not ordered that, also there’s no vin tag on the drivers pillar.
