Pulled the steering column out. Thoughts on replacing the rag joint while I'm at it? It doesn't look as worn out as some other people have posted theirs, but might as well replace while I'm at it?
It has an "S" bend it in. That can possibly be from a compressed column. Remove it for a good inspection. The box probably needs work too.
If you replace it, what do you think you're going to get? No one makes a rag like Saginaw or Tom Reina made today. Most are Chinese, some with the D-Flat 180* off. A NOS one is the best and they $300+ if you can find one. One place on Ebay is selling what they call NOS but they're not the same and most likely made by the company that bought out Saginaw. A U-Joint will work as well.
