Bought a 1971 coupe a few months ago and am having zero luck trying to get this car shipped from Hilton NY to Bloomingdale Il. Been trying with reliable as well as Intercity but just keep getting the same story of they don’t have any trucks going up to NY able to pick up the car. I want an enclosed carrier for the drive to me and really want someone to use the same care I would use. A bit afraid of just using a broker but I’m about out of time with the weather changing now. Does anyone have any suggestions on someone I could use that is responsible and that I could trust doing this in the week or so?
Hello,
You might try TFX International. 1-888-415-3158.
They're located in Canada but have many trucks working in the U.S..
Maryland to Saskatchewan 2000 mi in mid winter below zero temps made it look easy.
Regards....
I used Roadrunner Auto transport to move an 82 from FT. Wayne Indiana to Quakertown PA. Wasn’t enclosed but was put on a hotshot rig that only hauls three vehicles at a time, so they are more flexible. Wasn’t enclosed but arrived unscathed.
I recently bought a '70 convertible in Noblesville Indiana and had it transported in an enclosed trailer to Akron, Ohio. I used a broker that a dealer friend has had good luck with. I was happy with the price and results. I contacted them on a Monday and the car was picked up in a 2 car enclosed trailer Wednesday morning. The car was delivered to my house that same day. Send me a PM if you want the brokers contact info.

I have used Michael Bryant with B&E Transport a couple of times with good results. I also have a friend that has shipped numerous Corvettes with him. Michael is a broker and can explain the process most used in the industry and get you a price. 606 516 1771 or 1770. Good guy,
A DIY 10 hour drive on an open trailer is probably safer than letting some hambone handling your car. What's going to happen when you start driving it or is it just going to be a garage Queen?
I live about 10 minutes from Hilton and it is supposed to rain most of next week. If you can't get it soon I hope it's being kept in a garage. some of these cars are leakers.
Pat

You get what you pay for, some things are just not worth being cheap & cutting corners. Some of these brokers in the New York area are really terrible, many foreigners that don't even speak English or have the proper insurance, or permits, nor would I trust most of them with any of my high end, rare $75,000 - $100,000 + cars. I have heard of cars never making their destinations ( stolen off trucks while at hotels ) Others promised a week delivery time & turns into 3 weeks & your stuck in a contract, lie after lie after lie. Until you have gone down this rabbit hole you won't understand a job that's out for broker bid vs a solid, well known, reliable, responsible, English speaking , large, PROFESSIONAL operation, with many, many expensive tractors & trailers vs a single Dodge Ram 3500 towing an open trailer as pictured above, that the driver lives in. I have personally witnessed more then once paying for a closed / covered trailer & the car being delivered like above open, only to be told on delivery a closed trailer was not available & it was already 2 weeks late so they expedited the delivery that way & thought the customer wouldn't mind. & then fighting for a refund for the less expensive open trailer option. I have even seen requested closed trailer from ny to cali & the car leaves in a closed trailer, then transferred to another truck, then taken across the country in an open trailer & then back into a closed trailer for delivery. ( put a tracking TILE under your seat it's only $25 don't be cheap !! ) GPS & a lot of friends along the way certainly help. I have seen others that are careless, & don't have the proper ramps to load & unload some cars ( yes you would be surprised ). Kinda like a gypsy cab vs fully licensed / insured city medallion yellow taxi cabs. You have been warned. This warning comes from someone who has shipped alot of cars all over the country & out of the country at the rate of at the very least 1 per month, for many years.
SO I SAY - JUST DON'T DO IT .................not worth dealing with the all the bullshit down the road !!
Best of luck, wishing you & hoping for a safe, uneventful experience.

NEVER said I was using a broker.. understand you get what you pay for but that doesn't mean you can bend me over either... I also know a lot restoration shops and Plycar is not always their first or second choice anymore...
thanks for your input and knowledge tho... didn't think about the tracking tile..
