New should be greased already, I would not add anymore

All the new and rebuilt PSCV's come with a warning not to grease them as they are greased at the factory, and to grease them further will void the warranty. From a quick look at a Corvette shop manual I could only find where it mentions greasing the PSCV after replacing the ball stud, though a more thorough read of the manual might find more information.
I recently disassembled mine on my 73.
It still had what looked like the original grease in it.
At first I thought it was another thing on the car that wasn’t maintained properly, until I learned otherwise.
That big rubber seal on the opposite side of the fitting is what holds in the grease and if you add to what is in there it will just blow out of the seal.
After I rebuilt mine it took only a slight amount of grease.
If it’s dry, then add just a slight bit as Alan suggested.
[After 1975 the zerk fitting was eliminated and the boot seal modified to eliminate the purge slit. The valve was considered to be "greased for life."]
CONGRATS...
EVERYONE IS RIGHT !
