Can someone post photos of their ORIGINAL PAINT from the front inside edge of the door (between the inner skin and the door seal, by the top hinge)? Trying to see how the paint should look on that area. I've been told (by a retired GM bodyshop guy) that they were a matte or satin black.

From your description I'm not sure if you're asking about the hinge pillar itself or the upper / front of the door's surface.
If the door... yes there was black out from the door's weather-strip to the upper font of the door card.
