A tech section could very possibly draw the old guard BACK here on a regular basis, as it would give them a place to hang out and contribute without seeing their info disappear behind a bunch of silly junk.
I think most of the old forum members do like I do...they check in maybe once every 3-4 MONTHS. They see a bunch of junk questions and posts, and they leave for another 3-4 months.

I have a tech question that I've been waiting to ask, but no way I'm gonna ask it in the General section of C3 right now. I know it will disappear before anyone who knows the answer will see it. And I'm not even sure anyone who knows the answer will even bother to reply any more. But I'd rather risk asking the question in a tech section than the General section.

Dep
and you REALLY think a non divided forum is why they stopped comming here? interesting...

i think that we should stop talking about it and go ahead and get the powers that be to get this done ASAP...
the majority of us obviously want it changed...the ballot reflects that...
i for one am anxious to see it happen here...
im sure that it will work as well here as it does over in C5...

I think Dep is right, in fact some of them I have spoken to and have said they went because of the overwhelming amount of non interesting/off topic posts. I don't feel like naming names but most here know a couple of these guys...look back through real old posts (is that still possible??) and look at the names that were posting then, there were some very valuable people there that don't post to date.

it is clear that the "no's" have lost the vote so who thinks it is time to actually make this switch?

how do we actually make this happen?
who does this kind of switch?
do you think perhaps it is time to start dicussing exactly what the sections will be as well as how many of them?

Oh Xenon lights, those are really expensive. 300$,..is that including the transformer?? I had been looking at that and you're right, the complete kit is way over 1000$ (looked at stuff for bummers, mercs and such)

Can you snap a pic of how you have your lights setup?

What AGVI said...plus...why should members of this forum be inconvenienced by having to sort through a zillion BS posts, and other forums HAVE a tech section that they can go directly to? Are C3 owners second class citizens in the Corvette Forum world? I think NOT!
We have just as many tech issues as any other Corvette...maybe more for the 1968

I do not have any experience with flogging dead horses. But I would imagine they stink as bad as this thread. In my former life it was called cease and desist in terms of wasting time with this issue. Consider the inputs and get on with life. Make a damn decision someone!! This is madness.

Ok lets quit flogging them and get this party started. Damn...........Damn............... how hard can this be, were not having a baby here..........maybe a cow?

I would think anyone who can edit polls can add a new subsection just as quickly.

I think maybe ddecart and GDaina are scared to do anything..........getting death threats from california and florida.

i too do not understand the "disappearing thread" phenomenon...
its as tho they are gone forever if they move off page one...
wait til they have to search thru 3 or 4 different SECTIONS to find what they are looking for instead of 1 or 2 pages!

i just checked page two and the very last one on the bottom of the page was almost exactly 24 hours ago...whats the big deal?
thats one page down for 24 hours of posts...

if they are having trouble finding things in one section, how do they figure it would be easier to find scattering it thruout 3 or 4 different places...???

i dont understand what is so hard to see about that...

the bottom line here is that this isnt going to end until the split happens because the same people will just keep bringing it up over and over and over until it does happen, so what we need to do IMO is just change it and move on with life...
back to the happy, friendly, fun, C3 family this was a few days ago before this nightmare subject makes enemies of some of our C3 forum family that we all have enjoyed here for years...

thats the ONLY reason i have changed my vote to YES...
i still subscribe to the "if it aint broke, dont fix it" theory but sometimes it is easier to just give in...

some of us here...MYSELF INCLUDED...have taken this subject WAY too seriously and it really isnt that big of a deal...
i only hope that it isnt split too many ways...i will be able to put up with looking thru 2 or 3 sections to find that things of interest to me, hell, i have to do that now over in C5...but it would really suck to have to wade thru 4 or 5...

searching thru just one section was nice but i quess those days are soon to be gone...simplicity eventually gives way to complexity...
if you dont belive it, just look at the one thing that we all love...the Corvette...
