It seems like the same questions keep getting asked over and over again. If we could just keep the archives safe and keep the search function working, and encourage people to use it everything would be fine.
It is much easier to brouse through one big forum than two little ones.
plus if every one is looking at the same forum your question will get the best answer.
hahahaha, this is hilarious. When was the last poll, this summer?
Suggested forum sections:
General
For Sale/Wanted
Norval/Twin Turbo I need help!
Weather related (I can't drive my c3 today because of 3 feet of snow/haha i drove my c3 today it was 90 degrees out)
Section for c3's that went out for a ride and never made it home
Is your c3 a daily driver?
Funny stuff found on ebay
Section for making fun of c6 owners
In all honesty alot of the questions asked on the forum can be solved by a simple trip to corvettefaq.com but there seems to be little to no advertising for vettefaq on the corvetteforum site, I thought they were sister sites?
Oh yea, i voted yes. Its a pain in the rear to have to scan through 3 pages of general topics every day just to get to something i was watching yesterday, and I definatley don't want the forum sending me emails from watched topics, i get enough junk in my inbox as it is. A split forum would be fantastic. You hit a page, scroll down, read the topics, not have to scan through 3 pages of crap, make your posts and are done with it. Most of the topics that are in general now will stay in general, but tech topics will be easier to get to, easier to get answers, and more effective if they're kept in a different section. "Help me, how do my brakes go back together" is alot more important than "i got a c5 today"
I think it will often be difficult to decide if a posting is "tech" or "general." (or whatever the categories are). Just leave it alone. If you see a posting category you're not interested in just don't click. There are sometimes a few purely personal postings. That's OK. We're all human beings here. The center of gravity of all of the postings is nevertheless still in the tech category.
i say yes this time....maybe that way these posts will stop appearing and the whiners will stop...
But then what's next? People will be pushing to have this more and more like C5 & C6. Next thing you know we're going to have a demand for things like "C3 Floormats" and "C3 BSMs" sections! Where ever will it end!?!?!
According to the forum main page the C3 Corvette section has about 50% more threads than any other section, so there is surely enough traffic here to warrant a split.
I'm also curious as to how the other sections were split? Was it a community decision, or a Mod/Admin decision?
Fevre, these "split" polls only come around every 6 months and I see no problem for an "unsplit" poll every 6 months if it does get split.
