It waited until 4:00 to start raining and I get off at 5:30. I work on a very busy four lane highway that has been referred to as "blood alley". Anyone around Lafayette,LA knows what US 90 is like and how people around here drive.
With a wet road I was traveling about 50 to 55 mph approaching an intersection with another local road. Several cars were in the turning area waiting to take a left turn, I noticed the white car pulling across the other lane and said to my self "it is not going to stop! it is not going to stop!!!" And she didn't. I began to apply brakes and veer to the right hoping she would look my way and stop or slow down enough for me to drive around in front of her. At last I realized there was no avoiding her I locked the brakes and turned hard right causing the car to slide almost sideways into her passenger side about middle of the car. The impact spun me around and threw me into the ditch hitting a road sign and the culvert in the bottom.
Thanks to my relatively low speed and angled impact I escaped with only a stiff neck and broken heart. The front of the car is pretty bad. I am sure it is totaled. Ironically the girl driving the pos buick was born in 1980, and thank God she was not injured and her infant son was not in the car. Her husband picked her up in a rustang to ad insult to injury. I was cold toward her but not rude and I told her she had just destroyed countless hours of hard work. She was remorseful.
Just like the governator I will be back. Sorry this was so long but it really is comforting to sit here and air it out with people who care about these cars. Thanks to all of you and good luck and be safe!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune I know all about 90, I avoid going to Laf. because of the traffic. Looks like you had a nice one to,I'm surprized I haven't seen your vette around. Good luck with the repairs
that sucks, hopefully insurance will buy you a suitable replacement or get you started on another project. What gets me is people don't seem to understand these cars are no longer being produced, so its not like you can go buy a new C3.
Glad to hear your ok. Man I feel for you, I know mines like a part of the family to me. I know all of its little tempermental quirks and I've had my hand on every peice of it. I'd hate to lose it that way.
dude, I'm glad you're alive. I just got a phone call informin me of two separate vehicle related deaths in the past ten days to a couple teenagers. Accidents suck, and I'm sorry to hear about your car. thank God you saw it coming. It could have been worse. good luck.
I hope you can recover. With a C3 just getting it renewed is such a problem, recovering from an accident is even worse. I hope everything works out well.
