Looks like the front end took a pretty good lick. I got rearended in my 79 and it totalled it. I was surprised at how well it held up. I expected it to be a lot worse on me and the car. It did bust every panel on mine but, I was only sore from the impact. They are pretty stout cars.

I just saw your pics and i almost had a tear because your's look a lot like mine and it made me think that it could happen to me also. In almost 16 years my baby never sleept outside more than one or two nights a year when im away on Shows N Shine. Just to imagine my baby in a junk yard is like having your best buddy in the cemetary. I just hope you can fixe it because you have a real nice car and it could be a good start for some customizing.

Glad everyone is OK. I had a bad wreck myself a few years ago. A carload of kids pulled out from a stop sign on my right. I was going about 50 mph. I tried to miss them but a 3/4 ton truck pulling a 16' trailer doesn't swerve very fast. I ended up hitting the car from the rear door to the back end. The unfortunate kid sitting in the left rear seat received brain injuries. The State Patrol report actually blamed me for 5% of the accident by swerving. Don't automatically trust these guys to get it right. The other thing is don't let them try to fix the car. If there's any doubt try to get it totalled and start over. With a bent frame the Vette may never drive right again and you will NOT be happy. After $10,000 in repairs my pickup never drove right. The worst part about these things may be all the crap the person not at fault has to go through (lawyers, insurance companies, adjusters, loss of car, yada yada yada) and you probably won't be compensated one dime for it.

Wow, just saw the pics. It's amazing no one was hurt. Unfortunately, the vette looks like a total loss.

I agree with jdmick. There should be some kind of consequence for the guilty party even when no one is seriously injured. Maybe some kind of responsible driving class that lasts a couple weeks. My life has been disrupted not to mention the trauma my wife and kids felt when they drove up to get me from the scene and now I am scared of every car approaching an intersection. I am glad the girl was not hurt, but is it cruel of me to hope she is having nightmares about sharks circling her bed?

Nothing from her insurance co yet. They did get me a rental. I fear this sunfire is gonna get me rearended.

thank God you and the other driver are OK. Something better will result of this, and it might take years before you realize it, but try to look forward to that idea.
