Sunday 2oclock in the afternoon I start my car ,let it warm up about ten minutes ,shut it off to change the oil.30 minutes later cops show up ,a neighbor across the street at least 200yards away complains about the noise.Officer tells me if he signs a complaint I will have to go to court. I tell him to have him go sign it. If I cant work on my own car in my own driveway thats bull sh**. Middle of the afternoon. No one in my own cul d sac cares.I could see if I was ripping it up and down the street but I dont think my car is any worse than the open pipe harleys going up and down the street and they do it at all hours.Had to rant well see what happens.
thats a minor **** off to say the least. Something like that you hope it does end up in court just so you can let the system work in your favour and have the bull**** complaint thrown out.
Some people need to learn "Live and let live"
How much am I willing to bed the guy either owns a Ford or a *** Scrap import and is a nurse in his spare time....
That sucks, but you did recently post a video of you testing out your traction control on your street...
So did he sign it then? I probably wouldn't have told the cop to f' off like that (if that's how you actually said it,) better to get him on your side. Anyway, I agree that it's bull, most of my neighbors only have nice things to say (e.g. what year is it? ) but I've been yelled at by one. Jealousy, what're you gonna do...
If GM offered the cops the use of a Vette every year for free like Harley does with their motorcycles I'm sure we'd have less problems....
Yeah, that's bull. I don't see any point to call the cops for an idling engine. Maybe if you were revving the **** out of it or something, but an idle, even from an alcohol burning car isn't that bad, especially at 200 yards.

edit:
Did you know I was typing?
Where did I say to the cop to f off. That isnt in my post? And yes I did a traction control test and you can see I didnt spin the tires or go faster than the speed limit.Middle of the day when most people are not home.
Hey at least you don't live where I live, some azz called the cops on me because I parked on the grass next to the parking area because all the parking spots were filled and I got a ticket too
Where my truck and vette are the neighbour calls the cops on me all the time, just because he's jealous
I had a neighbor who was on my bad side until I finally stopped in front of his house while he was outside and yelled "why don't you stop glaring and get in!" he's been nice to me ever since.
Somethings got under your neighbors bonnet......you need to find out what he's really beefing about, because really he should have lodged the complaint with you instead of involving the cops...
..the first rule of thumb with immediate neighbors is to get them on your side......
....my neighbor complained about my outside light shining into his house...so I immediately removed the bulb....now, he doesn't complain about my Vette starting up at 6AM on a Saturday morning.....
....Point is.....if someone's breaking into your house, you want your neighbor to call the cops, not look the other way.....

I usually take it easy in front of my house, and my neighbor asked why drive like such an old lady all the time
I'm very mellow in my neighborhood, 'til I get out on the main roadways. I have had neighbors tell me I should lay down a massive burnout in front of my house-that would look cool. No way.
From: Who says "Nothing is impossible" ? I've been doing nothing for years.
Check your bylaws, usually there is a clause in there about noise. I know where I live you can run anything you want( bulldozers, chainsaws, Hooker sidepipes etc ) after 7:00AM to I think 7:00Pm this allows people to make renovations to there homes amongst other things

I agree with what you said but this guy is not in my cul d sac. He lives across a very busy street 200 yards away with an iron fence around the sub division. His backyard faces my house and he sits up on his deck and watches. The officer said there is no noise law between the hours Im running it but he has to respond to complaints. When I built my house ,where this guy lives was a field. This is the same guy that shoots bottle rockets every forth of july off of his deck which is against the law.
