Didn't hit any potholes with that kart did you? I think you guys have far better roads there anyway. North Carolina roads are terrible, it's embarrassing. Kansas was much better.
I understand your need to be different with the seats, go for it. I do things to be different too, like the motorcycle I bought. Only imported to the US for 2 years so finding parts is a b**ch where I could've just bought a Honda CB The best website for it is actually based in the Netherlands...
As for driving schools, I'm suprised. The UK has trackdays coming out of its ears from what I read in magazines. You can run around the Nurburgring all day long for like $20 can't you? How far away is that?
I don't care for comfort and the autobahn is smooth anyway. It's not like I'm going to be doing 100s of miles on single trips, certainly not w/ gas over 6.75$ a gallon here.
Uncomfortable is what it is, yes...no insulation anywhere, stiff suspension, uncomfortable seats, cramped roll cage...sounds good to me
Wimps! I actually find my 12.8 pound Sparco to be very comfortable on long drives. I've burned up a full 25 gallon tank without stopping and that can be over 6 hours behind the wheel driving at highway speed
All this talk of comfort and seats reminds me that the padding on my first seat was the foam rubber out of an old sofa cushion. This was secured to the seat frame (inverted five gallon plastic bucket) with duct tape . Now I think it would require a ten gallon titanium frame to support my fat a**
I agree when I ride my captain I plan in advance to where I will ride to. Then with a limit of 5 miles, I leave the captain at the destination take a cab home then take a cab the next day to ride it back.
Is that old fashioned tuck n roll upholstery I see on your door panels? I'm surpriced that they have any padding at all, I thought you would have gone with sheet alu filled with holes...
well..that would be easy to do, I'm more focused on other stuff but certainly fabbing some sheet alu doorpanels is possible, however holes in them are not, I don't want to cut myself (and don't want to flare them) and then you'd see the inside of the door..not exactly appealing is it?

Unless you do some more tricky stuff this time to your window and door lock mechanism that you would like everyone to see...
Nothign fancy there apart from all shiney fresh plated parts...that's as far as I'll go there..oh and a nice black paint job on the inside of the door..but I'd still rather not have holes

I'm sure at some point you'll go hmmm that stuff inside the door could be made lighter, better, trickier etc... And it all starts again and you end up having door panels with holes in them a'la norval!
if it has to be that light I'll buy a second set of doors and gut them, cut out most of the metal and remain w/ jsut a bare metal frame and an outside panel and just a locking latch (and a mirror) Holes eh? you should see my new hinge, or my " spreader bar" or my trans crossmember...all holes..oh and my battery box
do you think this is Norvalized properly?
