Default LS1 in a C3

I've been thinking about putting an LS1 in my '75 and I'm wondering if anyone has done and what type of modifications are need for it. Thanks!

Edit: Sorry if this topic has been mentioned before. I didn't thinking about doing a search and I'm going to bed now.

Here is a rough list I made up. Be prepared to spend around $6K.

I did my transplant with out purchasing any special parts every thing was simple with minimum fabrication. Between the posts hear and posts on LS1 tech, and 70LS1’s web site and similar ones, you’ll never have to ask any questions every thing is there. Good luck and be patient.

Largest question I have is....about the bellhousing pattern/tranny bolt up, will it work with my existing SBC 700 tranny?? or a 2004r?? or does it take adaptors, and a bunch of junk?? also about the flex plate situation....

Gene yes it bolts right up to my 700r4,only one bolt isnt there upper right side,no big deal,i used a c5 flexplate and removed the splined torque tube adapter from it and then used a crank adapter from gm with 6 of there longer bolts this centers the older torque convertor hub into it.Also if using the c5 flexplate theres 2 bolt patterns, new one for 4l60e convertors and the older 350/ 700/200 convertors.

Heres the part numbers for the crank adapter and bolts.

Spacer: 12563532

Bolts: 12563533 -6 needed

thats for the spacer and the bolts from the dealer

$6K...that's not that bad. I was thinking it would come out more along the lines of $10K, so I've saving $4K Just wondering, does anyone have any recommendations of any places where I could buy an SL1 engine?
