I have the cam and did the dyno thing with it. I came out with 253 RWHP and 300 RWTQ. I have since done a little tuning and think I am a little better. You can hear a little bit of idle at the end of my Timeline Video in my sig. It will idle right down to 600 RPM if you want it to. It starts to sound like a cam should around this point. I have about 5000 miles on mine and am pretty happy with it.

I am using that cam also. My engine has a fairly smooth idle at about 800 rpm but it is a 383 so the cam sounds milder than it would in a 350.

I have this cam currently in the engine I'm about to pull. I'm using AFR heads, headers, 650 Demon carb, THD 400 trans, 2,400 stall, 3:55 gears, 1.52 rockers, stock pistons and bottom end. The cam is good at low end and mid range, after that it seems to loose it's punch. Idle was very smooth 700-900rpms, they predicted higher hp and tq with this combo but the numbers sound about right from Eddie 70, I found the
numbers maybe lower, I tried everything to get the most out of the is combo but found the advertised numbers abit streched. It's a good low range cam for average performance like 7plagues said also, at 218/224 duration and 462//469 lift that's not alot, I went to a 4 bolt main, 10:1 comp, same heads and using the other components but with a Comp Cam with solids, 236/242 duration, 501/510 lift....this motor is going in soon and get me down the road ALOT faster.....

Mine is .030 over, Trick Flow heads, Performer Intake, Holley Street Avenger 670 with the softest secondary spring. I have shorty headers and 2 1/2 exhaust to stock style mufflers. At the time I was running just the stock timing with this.

Since this I have added an RPM Airgap intake, and set the timing up per Lars paper and added roller rockers. I have not been back to the dyno to see if I have helped any.

Dang...I'm beginning to get bummed out about my choice of that cam. When I was shopping for cams, they all said "Great cam! Easily 350-375 HP or more!" Now I'm having doubts.....

Yeah.. 350-375 flywheel HP - what Eddie 70 quoted was RWHP.. big difference. Take about 15-20% off of that for HP loss through drivetrain and you get about 280-300 RWHP

I also have this cam in a 383 with Iron Eagle heads 9.2:1 comp. Performer intake, Holley 750, headers with a stock THM400, stock stall, 3.08 rear. My best time was 13.004 but a ticket I have handy is 13.391 @105.19 with 2.077 60’ (Street tires) Lots of torque with a nice idle. 72 Vette

Is that with iron heads? What octane fuel is required? and does it take all the timing?

I installed that cam in a 327 I built for a friend of mine's wife's Camaro. It's a very mild cam, it idles about like a stock cam, and makes the car very easy to drive. It did produce a noticable performance improvement over stock using the stock heads - it has excellent low-rpm torque and makes the car feel strong through the mid-range. It flattens out over 5000 rpm.
