I know this an old thread, but I'm just now getting into this project myself....

Have a '79 L82 w/ BW 4 spd....got info from Summit on the following:
TRICKFLOW bolt on kit #tfs-k314-350-400.....$1800
Edelbrock #7101 intake.....$197
Holley carb #4776s.....$453

After I read the info, it says that the intake will NOT clear the hood....so I gotta
look at a different intake.
I told 'em I'm looking at min. of 300 hp, up to or a bit above 350 hp, and wanna
stay w/ regular gas, & don't wanna run into any "complications".
I WILL have the cylinders checked...but car has only approx. 40k miles.
I AM going to put in a new clutch at the same time.
I'd appreciate any and all feedback on this scenario....even other components that would
end up w/ similar pricing.....don't want to go w/ crate engine.
Thanks!!

Best way to get input is to start a new thread. The edebrock 2101 fits under the hood. Idle to 5500 RPM dual plane intake.

Reel is right the best way would be to start a new thread, but there are a lot of guys fitting the 7101 under a stock hood with a drop base filter.
