MPG too low

MPG too low
Got an 81 with a 350 crossfire, ac, and auto trans. Just tuned and runs great. Garage found plugs were wrong and choke was mostly shut. Problem is now I get only 6-8 mpg in town and 10 on the interstate. What is wrong here? Used to get like 11 and 13/14.

I thought the crossfire didn't come out until 82? My 80 305/180hp in its prime would get 18 city and 23 highway. Now, years later, Im upgrading with a GM crate motor next week and Im finally going to put some miles on my toy. I only have 70k on it in 26 years. Now time for fun. As for your mileage, maybe a possible vaccuum hose off? If the plugs are correct and it runs good, it should be getting better than the numbers you posted, unless you are having fun since it is running good
