I have Hooker sidepipe headers, and will be getting a Jeep box kit. I do know the Jeep box and the stock box are almost the same width, so if the stock fits, the Jeep box should fit fine too.
It's a little longer though, so I hope that doesn't fark things up.
Search for "jeep box" - it would help to go into the "advanced search" and select the archives. It's a semi-drop-in replacement for the old crappy PS system.
I like the idea, but I think it's funny, and somewhere, some Chevy guy is blowing an O-ring cause a Chevy has a Dodge part in it and it pisses him off to no end.

Eh. I'm sure he had a heart attack long ago when we started instaling Ford cooling fans.

Don't forget some of us are running Ford Tremecs and still others here are running the Mustang T5. Some of us will go to any length for improve our cars.
Junk yard Mark VII fans so they are cheap plus powerfull from what I hear
I have a 19" fan from a Mustang Cobra, looks just like the Mark VIII fans only bigger, and the thing burned up an alternator it pulled so many amps. I'll have to find a good, GOOD, fan relay kit if I want to ever us this fan again. Any ideas?

Norval, I was wondering if you could use the Ford Tremec 3550 or whatever the T5 replacement was. Is it stronger than the T5? I really, really want to get rid of my TH350.

Some of us have used the common Mustang T5 and with little effort it fits. Unless you are into power shifting you will not hurt the normal T5. Certainly not with burnouts, it's only weakest is 3rd gear power shifts. I even ran one behind my blown bigblock with 4 11 gears without a problem.
The tremec 3550 I believe is the lowest of the tremecs but 3rd gear is an improvement over the T5
The T5 is a cheap alternative for a 5 speed overdrive. Those that have done the swap rave out them.
how hard is it to get the ford tremec or t5 to fit in the vette? i have a 78 auto that is going to get a 5 speed eventually and the kit for almost 5 grand is just a little pricey for a tranny i don't think i would trust my welding to last with my motor but if the likage bolts right up i am willing to cut holes im my tunnel for shifter placement.
Ford T5, im reading with captivated awe. There is so much knowlege here! I think im going to make this web site my home page... the emails can wait!
Guys you are just new but the installation of a mustang T5 has been written about over and over. Other then a simple 1/2 inch aluminum adapter plate it is almost a bolt in deal. The mustang T5 is plenty strong, cheap, plentiful, a very compact transmission. Around here they go for about $450. Any of the late 80's low 90's work with one aluminum plate and 93 or 94 and up with two aluminum plates.
The only difference besides very minor things between a chevyT5 and a Ford T5 is the ford uses a 1/2 inch longer input shaft then chevy hense the 1/2 inch adapter plate.
Do a search on this. It is a very cheap alternative.
Norval and Doug convinced me to go with the T5 last winter. It was the greatest modification I could have done to my car! It cost me $1,200.00 for everything, went from 16 MPG to 20 MPG, much more fun to drive and the engine runs cooler because of the lower RPMs at highway speeds. Thanks Norval and Doug!
