Looks great. How do you expect to position it? Aiming up or at the front?

Can you walk me through how to post thumb nails?

I have a similar box just slapped together out of flake board as a temporary arrangement, that's a heck of a lot nicer! Mine is aiming up, I need to try it aiming forward to see what it does to the sound.

BTW, the thumbnail he posted is an image uploaded to the forum, something which only supporting members are allowed to do. If you had a thumbnail and a full size image posted somewhere you could do a similar thing by using the thumbnail with IMG tags inside a URL tag.. but that may have just made your eyes cross.

Its a new one I bought a wile back when they were painting them the incorrect color, so I repainted it and thought it would look nice on the box. The box will be cover in black and the grills as well. The speakers are NOS coxal 10 Ohm so I can use them with the factory radio, AL.

I wish I had been able to get on that train. I love emblems, and customizing them. I'm gonna repaint all my Vette's emblems to match it's colors and theme.

I'd suggest a much bigger cone(s)! 4x6's leave alot to be desired. There's plenty of room for 6x9's or even better 8" round cones. I've got one that's angled do get the sound aimed over the lip in the back.

I'll post some pics of the box I built when I'm done. It houses two 10" subs, two 5.25" mid-bass speakers, two passive crossovers, and two solk dome tweeters. Yes...it fits behind the storage doors, and nice and snug in the back, in front of the amp rack.

Sound sweet. I'll re-do my Dad's attempt at it. Has a lame '80's Pioneer cassette player with like 2.5 watts/channel. Sounds so bad I don't even turn it on! That rear "glove box" is a good place to hide a amp or two also...What have you done about front speaker placement? Kick panels and/or dash. Those locations aren't very good, but it's all we got. Maybe a set of tweaters mounted on the corners of the dash/pillar will help the imaging a bit.

I'm making some custom kick panels for the front, where the butt of the speaker will sit right over the #3 and #4 body mounts in those little sealed cubbies. Perfect for mid-bass. The actice crossovers will ge behind the dash knee pad, and the tweeters will go in the upper dash pad aiming up at the glass. They are flush mount so it should look and sound great.

Default 68 Corvette Speaker Box

This whole thing started when I couldn't install the 10 4"X10" Delco coax speakers behind the kick pad and the factory ones sound bad. I will have the factory ones restored and put in a safe place. Not completed the box but here is what I got.... AL.

You gonna paint the connection panels to match the box or interior at all or leave them white?

There just there for fit right now and will need to remove them to paint them a satin black to match the rest of the box, AL.

I just hate the sound of those 10 ohm speakers. They're getting like 10 watts per channel. They make aftermarket radios that look stock and operate like most modern 4 ohm head units. If stock is the look then those stereos fit the bill...literaly at under $300.
