Default Vintage Air Problems

Anybody had a problem with their Vintage Air AC? After hooking up mine worked fine then a couple hundred miles into a trip the fan stuck on high and will not turn off unless you pulled the fuse. It's not the console switch. Also the manuel says the controller will recyle at start up opening the various solenoids. Mine doesn't do that either it come straight on at full fan. I've checked all the wiring and the connetion are good. I plan to call their tech support whne I get back home and can get to the car but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

I had a similar problem in that the fan was constantly on low speed with the compressor cycling even when the system was turned off. They sent me out a new computer and all was good. They then diagnosed my old computer and said that water somehow got onto the circuit board causing it to short circuit and malfunction. I myself was surprised to see how "open" the circuit board was to the elements as our cars will inherently have problems with small leaks here and there, etc. I took the new circuit board and wrapped it up good to protect it from any further possible water damage. I had my friend wash the car down with me inside and passenger dash out and we could never find any leak at all. Their tech support guy "Mark" was very good and responsive with getting me up and running again asap.

Its been 2 months now and no problems with the unit this far since we replaced the computer.

Did you have to pull the passneger side console out to get to the computer? Any other disassembly?

Sounds like a stuck compressor relay (points welded together).
