Thanks for the additional info! Probably going to just stick with the 5 point as I'm just doing drag racing. Might look into adding points down the road though, so I saved the drawing.

See Figure 5 below from the Corvette Chassis section (chapter and page may vary depending upon which edition referenced). Note that the diagonal could easily be interpreted as the only rearward brace intended, but I'd hope that's not the case.

Anyone thought of incorporating a diagonal lateral brace?
it will save your neck. It prevents lateral distortion of the hoop.
If you should hit on the left top, heavy as the corvette is it will push the bar down on your head if you have your racing harness on, things will not be good.
Seen it three times, in the last five years, in lighter cars. One spent days in the ICU, the other the helmet was pushed down into his shoulders, really bad cuts. That was three weeks ago
I do tech, and the cage I really look at. We cannot pass one unless it has the diagonal lateral bracing. For TT and club racing.
Just something you might what to consider.. If anyone wants drawing on a approved bar, I can ad it.
Just something to consider.
That diagonal bar does have some merit. I'm using .134 wall 1 3/4 which is above the SCCA/NHRA rules. I have not had a problem with tech. Although I don’t have one and I’m not that worried because I was able to inspect two non roll barred Vettes (TTop) that both did multiple roll overs at high speed. One was a stolen 78 vette back when they were still fairly new. Both of them probably had ½ the car missing, but the passenger area was intact on both. Later Vettes were built with an integral roll bar from the factory. I do not know for sure what year these were installed.
I have personally tested a set of roll bars in a racing vehicle. 1 1/2 forward flip landing on the top. The bars were not really bent at all, but the car was totalled. (1 3/4 heavy wall six point Cage)
