Hey got a quick question for anybody and everybody.
I have a Tremec TKO II this is one of the early models that I finished installing just before the Keisler kit became available. I've been recently having some issues with it puking tranny fluid out the rear of the tranny.
This occurs after it warms up and is more pronounced at slow speed than freeway speeds. What really freaks me out is the rear seal looks perfect. Should I just replace the seal anyway or can the transmission somehow pressurize itself?
I sent this question to the Classic chevy 5 speed guys in Calrsbad California via their website, even asking if I should bring it by but never heard back from them. So thoughts?
When a transmission typically starts to dump oil after it warms up.... it is getting pressurized. I doubt it is your seal.
Check the steel vent in the top of the transmission. I have seen these earlly TKO vents get crapped up and corroded from sitting and without the case properly vented ...it will pressurize and blow oil. Also make sure you are running GM Synchromesh fluid. Heavy lubes can hang up in the vent passages and create a clog effect.
Also OVERFILLING these units will cause this problem since an overfill can render breathing passages inoperable...

Thx, dont relish the thought of having to get up there to check the vent , but I will.
