My universal ignition switch has 4 posts - Starter - Ignition - Battery and Acc. This is my attempt to match the diagram that was posted to the markings on the ignition switch. Here is my guess for the connections. Please let me know if this is correct.
From the tap on the battery positive cable to the batt post on the switch.
From the S terminal on the solenoid to the Starter post on the switch.
From Ignition post on the switch to the Batt lug on the HEI dist. I am assuming that the Ignition post on the switch is the same a Run position on the diagram.
Without you leading me I would have been really struggling to find this "simple" answer. Hopefully this information will prove useful to other forum members.
Here's a picture of mine on it's cam break in run, you can't see it in this picture but the stand is bolted down in four places with some threaded rods and concrete anchors.
That is just about what I envision for my engine stand when I break mine in.
I am still unsure how I will secure the stand short of drilling holes in the garage floor for anchors. I have seen other pictures on the forum of engine stands but no one discusses how to secure the stand. I expect that many just don't.
I have an engine stand and a cradle. I was thinking of using the cradle because it is wider and more stable.
