Got my motor in finally. Both motor and rad (the two hard jobs) are done. Now just the small stuff and details. Doesn't really matter when it gets finished as I can't drive it until spring as there is still lots of snow and SALT on the roads. Here's a couple of pics.
Looks good!
I am also getting ready to install the engine and was considering leaving the radiator frame, radiator and shroud out until the engine is in, do you think it would be an advantage or would the radiator pieces be even harder to put in?
It feels good to have the big stuff out of the way The heated shop is the envy of all my friends when it is -30 out like it was on Saturday. The old guy is "old school" mechanic and a great help.
Eng40 Definetly put the MOTOR in FIRST. The rad wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. It was worse to get out so I thought it would be harder to put in.... but wasn't.

So jealous right now.

Its much easier without the rad & rad support so your not trying to adjust a hanging engine in midair to clear them.

Hey, I know that car. Clifford - great to see you getting the motor back in. If I remember, it was a tight fit, and the fan shroud was by far the toughest part. Hope the weather improves and you get it back on the road soon. I know you've got to be going crazy to drive it again.

MAN... -30 ????? Here, +30 is almost unheard of. We have gotten up in the morning with temps in the low 40s a couple of times over the last few months but shoot, 60 is a hard freeze... ?right? At least our shop is heated pretty much year round... LOL oh yeah, it's also wide open... LOL
I know how it feels to get the big stuff out of the way. Mine moved under it's own power this week finally... we had LOTS of little stuff though since I swapped in a GEN II block with serpintine drive, went to electric fans and back to an under car exhaust.
