There are kits available for certain parts of our cars such as screws for the dash, sills, and other areas but I've never seen nor heard of a manual for a complete Vette.

I don't think the AIM will give you bolt sizes. I have a 1953 - 1982 Corvette Parts & Illustration Catalog which has exploded views. The bolt sizes are listed in the exploded views.

hahahaha...I've seen that before. Commonly known as one bucket disassembly. Take a picture of the nuts and bolts on a peice of paper with a number beside them and we can see if we can help you.

Hey BB72 - I watched my father do that for years. Throw every nut & bolt into one bucket, then pull them out one by one & install. I did that once!

I've taken enough apart and put together that I pretty much know where everything goes with the exception of interior screws...never paid much attention to those. I did buy an interior screw set so that should be easier.

7T1,
Even if you had the info as to what size bolt goes where, you still have to size all the bolts in the bucket. This is why some people spend as much as 2 weeks on a body off restoration. I read somewhere that there's as many as 30-40 bolts and nuts in a Corvette.
Regards,
Alan

The big bolts go on the frame, the small bolts go on the body

Car 71,
Seriously, the Paragon Reproductions and Dr. Rebuild catologues have some good drawings which show which bolts go where and they can also sell them to you if you need them. Anyone who has faced a pile of UNKNOWN bolts and nuts has learned a lesson about labeling things as they come apart. You were an easy target with a worthwhile question.
Regards,
Alan

I'm sorry....didn't mean any offense, but having un-labeled screws and bolts from a Corvette sounded very odd. Unless someone bought the car already disassembled [with un-labeled bolts], I can't imagine anyone doing such a thing. There are interior screw/bolt/nut sets which come labeled for all interior needs; you can buy them at almost every Corvette aftermarket parts supplier. For body/frame bolts....I don't know.
