Laying under my '69 I was reaching up feeling around the top of the tank for a sticker. Almost feels like there may be one on the passenger side towards the back. would this be where it would be located? Thanks.
I think the sticker was placed on the left. If you remove the "boot" around the filler neck, using a flashlight you can usually see the sticker. I can see the sticker on my '69 on the left. I haven't dropped the tank to retrieve it yet.
At this late date, they are pretty dirty and brittle, so I wouldn't be feeling around in there trying to remove it. You might end up with a lot of little flakes of paper.
Here's where the sticker, (Corvette Order Copy), on my 71 was located. As others have said the stickers can be in various places on the tank and are VERY fragile, so be extra careful.

Alan

I've never looked for the tank sticker, but I found the original order copy for my '70 stuffed between the tach and speedo. Not sure how often this was done, but worth a look anyway.
I just had the back end of a 75 vert. apart and the tank sticker was not on the tank, but was glued to the top of the metal shroud that surrounds the gas tank. As all have said, it was very brittle and covered with dust. It was, however, readable.
Doug 70,
Good Find!!!
The Order Copies were often put where you found yours or behind the radio. The Copies behind the radio are often gone because so many cars have had the radio changed over the years.

I think that shroud was new in '75, so every year before that it was glued right to the tank.
Unlike yours, mine was not readable at all, though the paper was pretty crisp and not brittle. I'd prefer readable and brittle though.
