I would like to ask for your opinion. I am looking at a 3 owner 1969 coupe. the present owner is a guy in his 60's and has owned the car since 1973. it is a 350/300 car with a 3 spd auto. new seat covers and carpeting. he said minor accident with one of the previous owners. I looked at it and did not see and tell-tale signs of a wreck.
it has 105 k miles appears to be very stock and original looking. it is monza red with black interior. matching motor and trans. white walls and factory hubcaps. chrome bumpers are fine, straight and rust free. the car was garage kept. paint is ok
any thoughts on value. I am not up on these models but i do think it is a good opportunity for the right guy.
my intentions were to flip it. yes i admit it i enjoy finding cars off of the beaten path, clean them up, and sell them to someone who will love it.
no pics at this time. i woul probably sell for 15-16, any interest?

You have looked at all the 'appearance' stuff....time to check out all the operating systems in the car. Engine, transmission, brakes, e-brake, engine cooling/fan, heat/A/c system, wipers, headlights, radio, etc., etc. 3-speed is very unusual with a '69 (if it is even original--could be the tranny threw 'craps' and they put in a dirt-cheap used box. Offer $10K and see what happens. Not a good time to 'flip' it [bad economy at the moment], but if you buy it cheap and hold it a bit, you may come out OK.
7T1-- read the first post again-- it's a 3spd AUTO-- normal stuff for a 69.
I'd still look at it very close for rust in the frame and birdcage. Even if it's a "flipper" the next guy (and your value) will drop like a hot horseshoe if it's rotted out.
Just to give you an idea, I just purchased a very similar car for 15k. 1969 burgundy/ black coupe with matching numbers 350/300 engine and 3 speed auto. The engine has been rebuilt and purrs like a kitten and runs great. The body is very straight, no rust, and decent paint that is about 5 years old. I bought it from the 3rd owner as well. So I think 15k is possible if you find the right buyer looking for a 69 like I was.
You know.... I read that and my brain quit at the end of "...3 speed...". I guess that when you get beyond the age of 60, "CRS" not only means "Can't remember $hi+"; it also means "Can't read $hi+."
7t1,
I know just how you feel! I'm screwing up more than ever. I thought it was because I can't remember the little I knew, but now it seems like I can't read very well either. At least I haven't started to fall down yet.
Regards,
Alan
