Depending on the crew for the day I could be: Techcnical director-pushes the buttons that changes the pictures on your tv during live broadcasts, Audio technician- controls the microphones and tape audio, Stage manager- controls all aspect of a show from the studio floor, Prompter operator- rolls the script that the news anchors read, Robo camera operator- uses a single controler with two joysticks to move 6 different cameras during live and taped shows.
I'm also the president of the technicians, IATSE local 833 so I negotiate the contract and make sure it doesn't get violated :boxing
In my spare time I try to enlighten people on the evils of Pan & Scan movies on dvd and install theater systems.
Service Program Manager for the leading supplier of metro router equipment. I get to dream up ways to take customers money in exchange for promising to fix their equipment. Sort of like the service plans at Best Buy.
Automotive Engineer working for a company that makes valvetrain components, bearings, variable cam timing systems, and front end accessory drive systems (air conditioner, water pump, etc). We are working on several projects for cylinder deactivation. I have also worked at DaimlerChrysler on full size truck axles, and a company that makes the weatherstrips on your doors and windows (automotive).
Worked 23 years as a manufacturing/quality engineer for GE; mostly in aircraft engine stuff. Spent my last 5 years in management - now semiretired and contracting back to them after having quit to move my family closer to grandparents... I fixed boats for awhile after moving here to Maine.
BTW, in most provinces in Canada, it's illegal to call yourself engineer w/o professional certification.
I sell the "American Dream"(no, not Corvettes!!). I'm a Realtor and property manager in the Metro Atlanta area. May I interest you in a barely used 3 bedroom,2 bath ranch :jester ? (just kidding!!)
