Before I went back to college I had a couple of interesting ones; professional wrestler for 2 1/2 years till I injured my back, hamburger cook, security guard, UCLPO "under cover loss prevention officer" not the kind at Target, but for a large company that had problems with drugs and theft. You know just the normal jobs you have till you figure out what you want to do for living. :yesnod: :D
I now have my own company, Chappell Consulting. (Computers)

I may start pestering you pretty soon. I'm about to take differential equations... again. I think if I go to class this time I might pass it though. Laplace transforms rule!... my God, I'm a nerd... :nonod:
:D
Some day we nerds will rule the world!

On the architects defence: their paid to make it look good, its the egineers job to make it work.
On a similar note. I see the term architect thrown on things that need the word "organizer" or something like that. WTF is a "Production Architect" at the local department store?... :blueangel:
I see weird names for jobs and it makes me think odd things. :conehead

No problemo, e3pres! Just bring on the ODEs and PDEs....:D BTW, if I remember correctly, Juliet is the forum resident expert on the subject!

that they are your friend, not your enemy.
OK, we're nerds but we nerd engineers have Corvettes and the Moon landings to our credit. (I hesitate to
mention the Pacer. :D ) And we already do rule the world - we just don't tell anyone so we're left alone.

I hate computers!

When I'm not glued to this forum, I manage continuous improvement initiatives for the maintenance operations at a major airline. And I'm sorry about your luggage and the time you were stranded in %#$&* Egypt.
The Vette is used to restore my sanity on the ride home. :smash:

I am a Radiation Protection Technician or sometimes called Health Physics Technician at the Comanche Peak nuclear power plant located near Glen Rose Texas. It's a really good job overall but I felt like it was time for a change so I began taking night classes at a local Jr. college. I just completed my third Microsoft Windows 2000 class. I had intended on obtaining the MCSE but that job market has gone SOOO flat that I am going to put the whole IT thing on a back burner. It looked like a HOT ticket for a while but. . .
Wow, what a variety we have here!
I'm a mathematician, and (Lord help me!) must be receiving my Ph.D. degree in May. What exactly I do? I teach and do research--the main result of my doctoral work being the proof of rationality and explicit calculation of the Hilbert-Kunz functions of a wide variety of polynomials, through the introduction of new concepts such as p-Fractals and triple resultants. ARGH!

I work in electrical maintenance at a nuclear power plant. Someone has to keep the power on so we can surf the net and take a hot shower.
Your welcome.
I'm a studio technician for the Baltimore CBS affiliate. Depending on the crew for the day I could be: Techcnical director-pushes the buttons that changes the pictures on your tv during live broadcasts, Audio technician- controls the microphones and tape audio, Stage manager- controls all aspect of a show from the studio floor, Prompter operator- rolls the script that the news anchors read, Robo camera operator- uses a single controler with two joysticks to move 6 different cameras during live and taped shows.
I'm also the president of the technicians, IATSE local 833 so I negotiate the contract and make sure it doesn't get violated
In my spare time I try to enlighten people on the evils of Pan & Scan movies on dvd and install theater systems.
My curiosity is peaked. Please tell me about the evils of "Pan & Scan movies on dvd".
Thanks,
Mike
