Door shims on 73 C3
I know this is an old thread but just to put some more data out there I have Two 73 vettes, one big block and one L82. The BB car has 4 shims top and bottom on drivers door and 5 shims on top and 4 on bottom on passenger side. They both had new pins and bushings when restored. The small block car has 7 shims on top and 5 on the bottom on the passenger side and driver side has 2 on top and 4 on bottom. I have the front clip off the small block car and we are lining up the doors to the quarters first. Making sure your hinges are parallel to each other will make lining up the doors easier. There can be significant movement in the bolt slots. The BB car has not been hit or changed from the factory.
