How do I find out exactly what options came with our 69 from the factory. My fender vents have no louvers on them and I want to add them but dont know how to find out if it actually came with them from the dealer
I think the only place you are going to find this is on the tank sticker if it is still there. If it's there you are looking for TJ2 Front Fender Louver Trim total cost 21 bucks.
If your fenders have no louvers, then they have been replaced [due to an accident, etc.] or they have been glassed over. There is no valid source for determining what options your car came with...unless you can locate the original buyer--and he has a really good memory.
I'm assuming that when you say your fender vents have no louvers, you mean that they don't have the inserts that go in the louver openings. Otherwise your car has been modified quite a bit if it doesn't have the verticle louvers like the 67 and 68 models (not identicle but similar design for 67). As others have mentioned, the only sources for original equipment options would be the tank sticker, if it is still there, or the original owner/paperwork for the car. You will be able to determine some things, such as original paint, interior, etc. from the trim tag and experts can determine other options from examining chassis components and other parts, but that's about it without documentation.
Oops, I misread and thought you wanted to see what was available.
You can get the original dealer sheet from GM. It used to be free, but I think they charge $50.00 or so now. I'm not sure if they want back to 69 though.
I got mine when they were free by e-mailing Peggy at the following e-mail address.
BB,
You mentioned that you wondered if the car had the louver trim at one time.
If you look behind the inner fender where the vacuum reservoir tank is located you should be able see telltale signs of the holes for the louver mounting screws on the back side of the fiberglass louvers.
My bet is that if your car ever had the trim it would still be there.
Regards,
Alan

Thank U I will email her now.
Let me clarife what I ment I wanted 2 check everyoption that came with the purchase of the vehical by looking up my VIN . I talked to a buddy that said he foundasite that allowed him to punch in his vin and it told him everything down to the day his car was manufactured and where it was manufactured @
I see a good amount of BB's with w/o them like the ones in this link below so I assume it was a option ? I guess it's just preference if you like them or not to put them on your car & not a factory feature to every car made. http://100megsfree4.com/corvette/1960/vet69.htm

The inserts were an option, only in 69. As for the GM link, that information was not kept on record as early as 69. I don't think they started to archive that info until somewhere in the 80-82 range, so you won't hit paydirt there. Buildsheet or original owner are the only definite ways to find out the original equipment on a 69. Goos luck with your search. By the way the inserts are readily available in the aftermarket if you want to add them to your car.
