Default Header removal

I have long-tube headers on my small block ( four speed, power brakes and steering). Can I remove the headers from the top, or do I have to raise the car and pull them from underneath. I don't know the brand, but it looks like removing them from the top will be difficult or impossible. I want to wrap the tubes with heat insulating tape. Thanks

You have to drop them out the bottom - I'm not aware of any headers that will come out the top.

Thank you for the quick response, Lars. I figured as much. I am kinda dreading this job because it's been so hot here in So. Cal lately.

You might do a search on header heat tape. I had planned on this myself until I saw reports of rust under it. Now I'm not so sure. The recommendation in the thread were to go w/ceramic coating instead. I'm not sure I like the look though.
