Here it is. If it was a mid year coup it would go over and down the back of the door.

Seen the number of questions around here about birdcage repairs, I keep wondering why nobody has taken the effort to reproduce proper parts for the birdcages of C2-3 vettes.

How many folks remove everything off in order to do a complete repair? Very few... so, there's no money in it for the suppliers. Those that can do that kind of repair just fix them by welding in new material.

Actually you do can get few re-production parts of the bird cage, like the windshield corners and sides/upper bars.

There are a few places you can look without having to tear the car apart. Go inside the vehicle and remove the trim around the inside of the windshield. Bad rust will be obvious. If not obvious, take an awl and try to push through the sheet metal to see if it is weak from rusting from the inside. Check all the way around the windshield.

Another area is behind the kick panels. These are the panels down by your feet on the side walls. Remove them and with a light and mirror look up and down the framework behind the kick panels.

There may be other areas not easily accessible that can be rusted but this will give you a clue as to overall condition.

Seen the construction of the cage, i doubt that the spotrepairs will be longlasting.
