I don't deal with money at all!! I just design the stuff. I think they were talking about a street price of $1600 complete ready to bolt on and start up. Just pull off your carb, set it on, and connect it up.
With the tall Dart intake I have, which is for a 4500 carb, it wouldn't work. And just one won't feed the HP. Will my Aeromotive 1000 be sufficient to feed this EFI?
Yep, you are right. I didn't think about that. I guess you just have to live with the wheel wells not lining up perfect! Of course a 1/2" shouldn't be very noticable over all. Thanks for the idea!
I hate to bring you guys off the subject of that killer EFI setup, but...
have you thought about the break setup your going to use? I hear a good number of people on other boards going with ford explorer setups. I'm looking at a speedway kit (item # 91031902). I just ordered my autofab 4-link kit today, and Josh wanted to know what breaks I would be using so he could have strange build the axles to fit that setup.
also, I may have missed it, but were you including the rotor when measuring for the wheel placement/axle length?

When I ordered the Strange 35 Spline axles I also bought the rear disc kit with intergrated parking brake kit. I plan to connect it to my existing handle. I haven't crossed this bridge yet so it may get a little tricky. I was gonna get the 40 spline axles from Strange but they won't work with a Detroit Locker, just spools.

I'm going with the kit my circle track friends all use. You can get it at a couple of different places. Speedwaymotors.com part number #91031932. JR Performance has one too. The rotor hat is .09" thick at the axle mounting point. You have to subtract this from both sides of your axle/rear overall measurement.
I gave my rear end to the guy narrowing it for me. He has the correct jig, so he can do a better job that I can. He is going install the 4 link brackets, easy access fill/drain ports, the new billet housing ends, and narrow the rear. He said $250 to do everything. I will get the Moser axles, bearings, and the billet housing ends. Should be ready by the 13th or 14th.
Now I just need to get a posi unit for my carrier and the brake kit ordered and it will be ready to go in!
I got my brake kit in today. I ordered them from Speedway Motors. The whole kit was $249.00. My differential is supposed to be done by Monday, so then all I need to do is setup the brakes and weld the brackets on. Here is a couple of shots of the brake kit. Came with rotors, rotor hats, rotor hat bolts, caliper mounting brackets, calipers, caliper bolts, and brake pads. Everything you need.
Well, I had a setback. Work started to pick up and I had to do some traveling and haven't touched the car for a while. I got my rear back from being narrowed and I got all of my parts in. I mocked it up in the car with the 4 link bars and got everything where it needs to be. I pulled it all back out and threw some paint on it this weekend. I still need to put my posi unit into the carrier (hopefully this week) and put it all back in. I checked and my driveshaft will work and it looks like the U-joints are even the same size. Here are some pics the rear after I welded the brake caliper brackets and braces in. I installed a drain and fill fitting so it will be easy to swap center sections if I decide to build one up with a spool.

I wondered what had happened, but that's not exactly all bad news. From what we're seeing, I believe there may be a sizable wave of business about to come ashore in our sector too. Now, get that thing together so we can finally see how it runs, K?
Yes sir!
I am going to see if my friend can help me install the Track Loc into my center section this week and other than that seeing what brake line adaptors and line I need, I'm ready. I think I'm going to go with a kit I saw with small AN adaptors and a steel braded line for each side. I installed the axles and tire/wheel combo and they really fit well. Right where I measured them to be.
Tho I myself can attest first hand that the stock Corvette 10-bolt IRS setup will eventually surrender given enough power and sufficient bite, even w/o slicks, the C2/C3 IRS can be beefed up to handle drag racing launches with engines having well over 1000 HP, but it ain't cheap. Fortunately, they're somewhat modular so you don't necessarily have to go all out to prepare them for lesser punishment. The OP simply chose a different route than others of us have taken.

What mods would be needed to cope with 600 hp if retaining the standard setup? Thanks
