Default C3 Hydroboost

Newbie here to this site. I would like to experiment with a hydroboost, does anyone have a manufacturer part number ? i do not want to pay $400.00 for a pump if i can by one for 200.00. I have all the high pressure lines, able to fabricate anything. I think there is a popular model

Default Hydroboost or hydroPITA?

I installed or had my system installed a few years ago. To me it seems over boosted. I have been plagued with hard steering at low speeds. And recently a "no" brake issue! Backed out of a sloped drive I had nothing, well almost nothing! At low rpm I have poor steering and almost no brakes. I can heel / toe, and keep up the rpm for braking, which then seems solid.

The car was never right, but now after sitting for a while it seems worse. Any ideas? I also run a new style Borgensen box as well. I have heard there is a check valve in the PS pump which might be at fault? Or maybe the pump itself is faulty?

I bought a complete system years ago from Hydroboost, but are they still in business?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also if I need a pump any recommendations? I have a '71 LS-5.

Stupid question: when braking system fails can the emergency brake stop the car?

The PARKING-brake (not emergency) will hardly hold it when it's not moving

It'll die if the brakes fail and someone tries to use the parking brake to stop
