Default Choke Cable Installation

I have a 1979 with a Holley 4160 carb that has a manual choke. The previous owner installed it but never routed a choke adjusting cable. I finally bought one, but I'm not quite sure where to route the cable through the firewall or where to mount the adjusting **** in the dash...I was thinking of just going through the firewall in the same place as the throttle and installing the **** below the hood opener. Any suggestions?

For anyone that finds this on a search with the same question, I ended up running the cable through the rubber seal where the headlight vacuum tubes enter the cabin, and mounted the adjuster right under the hood opener.

Did you have to drill a new hole for the cable to go through the rubber seal or does the rubber seal pop out?

You are asking someone who has not been here in 13 years.
