Default Torque Thrust wheel cap thread size

I jus picked up a set of TTO's for my car. They include the small caps and the spinner sets, also a package of #8X32 flat head screws. All parts are new but have been in storage for a few years.
When I try to attach the caps, the screws go in about 3 turns and then get too tight to turn. Can anyone confirm that the tapped holes in the wheels are, indeed #8X32? I can run a tap in them if needed but would love to know if there's a mixup and that I need maybe #8X40 scews.

I know the screws were with the wheels, but it could be the wrong ones. Try this website: http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCa...ts/vin-hub.htm

Here's another site: http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/f...A72421&Style=3

Even though the first one says Mustang Depot, I purchased the screw set for my caps from them and they fit. AND for only $3.95 per set it may be worth the investment/time.

Hope this helps..

Thanks for the links, Vetteguy.
This morning I tried an #8X40 and that ain't it, so I smeared anti sieze on a screw and it turned in a lot farther before getting tight so the screws are correct. The threaded inserts must have some oxidation from sitting around so I'm going to squirt the holes full of PB Blaster and let them sit a day - I bet that will do it.

The screws are #8x32. They should also be fairly short.

I don't think they orginally cut the threads very good,
on purpose so the screws will not back out.
my threads were very bad too. so I chased the threads.

I tried soaking them and no help. Picked up shorter screws from Fastenal and it's good to go. Thanks for the help.
