Default Distributor sheild question

just ordered the dist. shield for my 72 454. i was wondering how it attaches to the motor. it comes with the brackets . do you use the bolts from the intake manifold or do i have to get something else? thanks.

Hi N,
You use the intake manifold bolts as you thought. Take a close look and you'll see which bolt needs to be used on each side.

JUST GOT MY IG. SHIELD. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THE SCREW STICKING UO ON THE PASSENGER BRACKET IS FOR? there is no hole for it to go through on the shield. maybe a ground screw?

I don't know for certain. My SB '71 manifold has that also. I suspect it was used to assist in moving the engine around in the plant (before assembly to the vehicle)...but I'm just guessing.

without seeing exactly what your talking about. I'm going to say it is the threaded piece that the braided wires go to? Should be on both bracket

if you are talling about the screw on the pasenger side of the shield it is for a ground strap. at least it is on my '81
