I'm really getting close. Had a buddy help me get radiator and support in tonight. Heads are on, valvetrain adjusted, everything lubed and oiled and most cables, hoses, etc hooked up. Got some final work to do and then fire up. Probably next nice day I will be ready to break cam in. I'll post some progress pics tomorrow!!!
Hope the pistons are not down .040, heads are way to huge, probably have about twelve rear wheel horse power now. I have always been a positive thinker, you know the glass is always half empty.

bore 4.00
stroke 3.48
piston valve relief 6.6
pistons down .040
64cc chamber
.015 gasket
9.75 compression

even if i'm off a little on valve relief you should be well north of 9.5
compression, enough to support your cam.

Make sure your full timing is in by at least 3000 rpm, lars has all kinds of good stuff on that.

Back to the mighty 21 cubic inch honda, trying to make a rocket ship out of 70s 360cc twin. Trying to ward off calling toad town racing getting those 13.5 comp. pistons. good luck.

Great. Do yourself a favor and fill the coolant up through the thermostat hole. Then put thermo back in, the hose back on and top off the Rad. gets rid of any air bubbles that way. Looking forward to the results!

Here are some pics. I'll fill the radiator from the hose as you suggested. I've got the timing papers and will recheck to make sure it's all in by 3000. I'll be a nervous wreck when I fire it up the first time. I'm also replacing rubber fuel lines with hard lines, so that may take me some time.

Nice. does look like your plug wires are running a bit close to the header tubes. Those headers are going to get HOT on break in. you might want to angle them towards the center a bit more. Looks fantastic! Good Luck.

That's one of the things I still have to tweak. Some of them are too tight (like #4) since I changed heads and valve covers. I need to pull a little slack down to them. I had to disconnect one on the other side just to get the looms back on. I knew somebody was going to catch that . . . thanks.

Weather permitting, this weekend is cam break-in. I finished everything this past weekend and will let you know how it turns out. Here is a pic of the hard fuel line that I made following Lars paper on building your own. I thought it turned out pretty good for my first attempt at double flares and bending tubes (well, I did practice a little -- first double flare was a disaster, but I figured it out) . . . it shined-up pretty good as well. I also bought some 5/16" tubing from Napa to replace the TH350 vacuum line; it's looks so much better now.

Dang it . . . it's supposed to rain all weekend. I may have to do between rain clouds.

Cam break-in complete.

Had a couple of buddies come by Saturday and cranked the vette for the first time. All went well . . . ran through the 30 min break-in process (per Lunati) and only had a couple of minor water leaks. I've got to change oil/filter and re-torque everything and hopefully take for test ride after work one night this week. It sure sounded good and I can't wait to "feel" the difference. I'll post my feedback with more details and possibly a video later this week.
