Default Engine Builder/machine shop in DFW, TX area?

Hello,
Wondering if anybody from the DFW area knows of or could recommend a reputable engine/machine shop. I have two on my list, but I am looking for a few more.

Thanks,
R

By far the best I've found is Dave at D&P Machine in Garland. Very, very meticulous, does what says he will in the time promised. (972) 840-2242.

I second that. He is building my engine right now in fact. I went down to his shop last year when visiting tracdogg2 - Dave's a great guy, give him a call. Top notch work!

Well... I guess I will have to call him up and have a chat.
Stinger and the rest, do ya mind sharing with me what ya had done? Kept it all original or did ya add a few ponies to it?
Looking for obvious quality but affordability as well.
Thanks so far, keep em coming.

I had him rebuild my aluminum Edelbrock heads, new guides, cut surfaces, new valves, set up springs.

Then I had him completely redo my 454 BBC short block. New forged pistons that had to have the domes cut 8cc, file fit rings, resize rods, balance, new cam bearings etc etc. He managed to deck the block and keep the numbers, that alone puts him in the top 1% of machine shops!

OK. That's the info I am looking for.
I did talk to John today. He was very informative. I was damn near ripping my engine apart and giving him info about it. Its been sitting on a stand for almost 20 yrs. But your talk of Big Blocks, really makes me want to have him work my BB vs my SB. I have the springs in place to support a BB, but all the other verbal dumps about all the changes I will have to do to make a BB fit pushed me away.
I would like to hear from others.
Thanks,
R
