Does anybody know what the bezel screws on a '72 should look like? I know the four lower screws located on each side of the bezel have a chrome/silver finish; however, I don't have any idea what the three screws secure the top of the bezel look like. I don't think they have the same finish and I think the middle screw may be longer than the other two -- not sure. Any idea what screws I should be looking for and where I can get some. Thanks again.
Hi OCS,
I believe the screw kits are $3.00 at ZIP.
Just to be on the safe side carefully check the length of the top screw that goes through the wiper switch bezel into the dash pad. Too long a scew puts an ugly dimple or worse a hole in the top of the dashpad.
The bottom 4 screws are chrome and the top 3 are black on my 71.
Regards,
Alan
There was a long thread on the color (black or chrome) of the two screws on either side of the gauge bezel. There were adamant proponents for both, which makes me believe that either is correct. [All four should be the same, of course.] If that is true, black would be my choice; the chrome heads on the semi-flat black bezel stick out like a "sore thumb" IMO.
