I'm converting my 90' TPI engine to the Fast ez efi system, I bought a Weiand #8120 intake and a Msd #8326 distributor and did a mock setup to see how it looked, well the distributor hole on the intake is too large, the inside dia. is 1.400" and the dia. of the distributor is 1.250".I called both Weiand and Edlelbrock and they both said that they machine the hole @ 1.400" is this common? My TPI intake and distributor is a snug fit no clearance.
Any input would be helpful.
That's not a problem. The hole is a little bigger as sometimes the intake is not centered perfectly due to machining of heads/intake. The distributor is aligned by the holes in the block. The intake hole is not used for alignment.

Cool, Its just that I have'nt bought a aftermarket intake in many years.
When you get through with your EZ EFI conversion will you post your
results here for others to see? There are many of us looking to use the
EZ setup and would find your result valuable.
I thought about the EZ-EFI setup for my 396 I'm putting in my 65. I was reading in last months Car Craft (or Chevy HP, can't remember which one) where they did several back to back Dyno Tests between a Carb and the EZ-EFI setup. They actually ended up dropping a couple of ponies but obviously just a click of the key and the puppy sprang to life and purred.
Too bad they didn't have some longer term streetability comparison and MPG analysis. Although for a weekend warrier to cover the approximate $2k for the kit plus the extras and labor needed to install it I think it would take a while to recoup the expense. But it is an interesting setup. I'm still toying with the idea and would be interested in why you chose it and the results of your efforts.

Yes, interesting/informative thread. I still don't see much in terms of streetability, power (a couple dyno runs), and MPG though except some Cold Start comments though. All-in the system has to cost a minimum of about $2k to install-DIY. For a fair-weather Sunday Driving BB 65 Roadster can I justify that in the long term? At this point, other then the bling factor (which is pretty cool), I'm not sure. But I do like it.
