Default Soft Top Questions

Time for a soft top re-do:
1. Is there a source for miscellaneous soft top frame parts/

2. Has anyone tried adding liners for insulation similar to C5 and C6?

3. Any tips?

Thanks mucho.

You can try Auto Entec or Glassworks, they are both restorers of tops, or if you want orig. you can try Paragon vintage.

Most of the aftermarket providers carry some parts for the folding top frame, but the inventory is not extensive. You are not likely to find everything you could be looking for.

Good luck.

Paragon sells a frame rebuild kit. It has new washers, screws, rivets (Rivet tool sold separately). Most of the major vendors sell individual bows, and your choice of rubber, or original style tack strips. I have found good used bows and rebuildable folding irons on ebay for fair prices. If you have a functional top now, you would probably need at most a new header bow, tack strips, and the Paragon rebuild kit. While all is apart, have the pieces media blasted and powder coated.

Hi fh,
You might want to contact Sully's Tops. They restore top-frames, and sell top-frame parts, too. 559-291-8677 or 800-451-3998.
They usually have an ad in the NCRS DRIVELINE.
Regards,
Alan

Google Haartz StayFast tops. This is the material used in high-end cars. It has three layers including a liner. It is a canvas-like material not vinyl.

Default Ok- just ordered a black stayfast top...

Looking at your it looks quite nice. I've replaced 2 vinyl top since 1984 .....maybe this one will last. It's not like I abuse them.

Not sure who bought what? But in any case the Haartz StayFast is A++. The fabric/canvas top does not shrink with age or heat like vinyl. A little more expensive but it sure looks nice.

This will protect your investment.
