I would like to go but that may be a bit too far for a weekend drive.
There are a lot of Corvette guys in the Tidewater area of Virginia that could probably make it to an event in Nags Head. I would definitely be up for that.

jacksonville is a 4 hour drive from norfolk. It is a little far for a weekend, I agree. The summer is long, if this one goes well, I may try to put another one together before I go off to college. Might try to cruise the OBX(outer banks). :)
Im going to the island today to shake down my car(I just got it together at 11 last night). I will try to find a few possible spots, so you and tom can check them out tomarrow if Im still at work.
theandies, what are you doing today? I'd love to see your car. Today should be a nice day..
I am helping my Dad pressurewash his deck. We are on Cedar Street almost across the street from the BP on the Isalan. My Dad's house is right next the to the EMT Station on Cedar Street. The the Reel Outdoors is across 58 from Cedar street. If you want just come by there. I actually have my car parked across the street from my Dads house to keep it from getting wet while we work so if you drive down Cedar street you cant miss it.
Anytime is good I should be there. If you have a cell phone give me the # and I'll call you. We got the pressure washer on and it is kinda loud to hear a phone.

Ok I found a spot. Its public parking so there is no charge, and no one to talk to. The biggest problem is it's a gravel parking lot. What do you guys think about that? should I keep looking, or is gravel ok?
Are C5's welcome? I'm close!! But I work every other weekend so timing will be a factor.
All vettes are welcome. Even people in their daily driver who have the vette "mid restoration" at home. Everyone is welcome basically(well you have to like corvettes, or you'll be very bored).
Have we set the date yet? I have some reserve stuff going on in early april. Knowing my luck, I'll be working on the weekend that is picked.... :reddevil
nope...date not set...I tell you what though, if my car isn't done soon I'll be mad. Hopefully it'll go to the body shop by next friday, which would give them 3-4 weeks to do repairs...It took them that long to paint it, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Just kidding. The date Im telling people it'll be "near" is the weekend after easter(when is easter???? :jester ). But what about the 2nd weekend in april? We really need to come up with a set date...So how is the 2nd weekend of april for everyone? say saturday the 13th. Unless a lot of people can't do it, that'll be the day...
ok, also, what is your take on a gravel parking lot? There are not many asphalt parking lots with beach access on the island. This is the best one I found. Its past the 2nd gant station(coming from swansboro/jacksonville). It's beach side. Its between the condo's and the cottages(called Peir Point or something). It's public parking, so no parking fee's, and the lot is quite large, so we could fit 30 vettes(if needed) in there on top of all the other cars in the lot...There is also some aspault parking, but I don't think its supposed to be parking(you could only fit about 5-6 cars there). What do you think? Maybe next saturday we can get a few people together and ride out there to check it out.
