71 headlights
I just bought a 71 vette, it's been in storage since 1984. I raised the headlights manually. Now i can't find a way to release them to get them back down?? I have all the vacuum lines coming to repair the system. But what is the trick to getting them to shut in the mean time!!! Please help!!!thanks-jimmy

you can't simply force the lights closed. there's a locking "elbow" in the mechanism that must be pushed rearward in order to close the light. get under the car and look up thru the large oval opening under the headlight. you will see where the actuator is attached to the mechanism. push the actuator rod toward the back, and the elbow will start to bend and the light will close. do a search of past posts, and you may find some pics.
